Hi, I’m Tucker Legerski!

I specialize in solving information problems. Across my adventurous professional life, I’ve lived and served in Peace Corps Mongolia, been an anti-boredom machine in children’s hospitals, worked inside a local radio station newsroom, delivered food during the early years of covid, and produced award-winning podcasts with people like LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.

Today, here is what I offer:

I research 🪏

  • What that means: I do the work of reading deeply and widely about subjects so others don’t have to. I send emails to experts. I find and look at documents and needed information. I make phone calls, knock on doors. I find information and act as a bridge between not knowing and knowing. I have lots of experience synthesizing information and delivering readable documents for busy readers. I’m the person who can do down the rabbit hole and find the gold needed for your project.

I fact-check ✔️

  • What that means: If the project would be stronger with it, I’m a big believer in finding the facts. I know how to fact-check reporting, documents, manuscripts, transcripts, and many other media creations. I check for the ticks, make recommendations, and work with creators to get their work as rock-solid with the facts as possible.

I make podcasts 🎧

I write ✏️

  • What that means: I hold a masters degree in creative writing. I know how to tell a story. Along with being a reporter for local news teams, I’ve written long and short form non-fiction, fiction, and poetry. I also have years experience in cutting tape, script writing, giving feedback on audio-focused projects. I’m currently seeking publication for my book about growing up with crooked bones and a single mother who lived and suffered with diabetes. I also maintain a blog The Waiting Room where I write about health, the human body, and what we should do while we wait. I often syndicate posts on my Substack.

I work with Artificial Intelligence 🤖

  • What that means: AI can be a powerful tool, but you still need someone to manage its outputs, find the errors, and make sure it really does make your creation better. I’m a human you can have in the loop: I experiment and use with AI tools daily for research and writing projects. I keep up with the changes and trends in the landscape.

I edit 📑

  • What that means: I have a strong sense for story and curating ideas to fit media organizations. In my previous role, I found over a hundred potential guests for our podcasts. Once a project is underway, I can provide notes on stories while also offering early-stage support. I also can give line and copy edits.

I teach & build community 📚

  • What that means: I’ve taught higher education courses in creative writing, science writing, and introductory English and writing. I’ve worked with hundreds of children in hospitals with various programming. I taught English and trained teachers in the Gobi Desert while serving in Peace Corps. I spent a year in Portland high schools when I served in AmeriCorps. Through each of these experiences and more, I’ve built strong communities and maintained relationships.

I report 🛰️

  • What that means: I spent two years reporting at Alabama Public Radio and writing at the Crimson White. I’ve taken several classes in journalism, and been a long-time student of the craft and industry. I know the ethical guidelines of journalists, and I know how to report out a story.
